School Board

Sara Doenges

In 2022, I knew our schools from a parental perspective, but now I have such a broader view.

As Chair of the Building and Grounds committee, I have been given a front-row seat to the real nuts and bolts behind the district, how to keep things running, efficient, and safe for our kids.

Our board has grown together as a unit and learned how to listen to each other, find creative solutions, and really strive to work TOGETHER. We've been making some important decisions, many unanimously. Including hiring a new Superintendent! Last year we passed our school budget when many around us couldn't, and this year we are working even harder to present a reasonable and effective budget. I am hopeful and excited for Rutland's future, and ready to keep working to ensure our kids get the best experiences in our schools. I would appreciate your support and your vote.

MaryBeth Lennox-Levins

I am running for reelection to the Board to continue our good work of creating a compassionate and healthy learning community, where each child feels respected, safe, and cared for, and feels ready to successfully achieve their goals. Specifically, I look forward to continuing our work on the Portrait of a Graduate and the Strategic Plan.

I am a solution-seeker, someone who works collaboratively with people who have diverse perspectives. In seeking solutions, I am meticulous at thoroughly researching relevant information and tying it together to serve the mission of the organization. I do not shy away from conflict, but instead, know it to be an important step in creating organizational cohesion. I will continue to empathically listen to the concerns of all the stakeholders, but particularly the parents, the teachers and staff, and of course, our students.

I assure you my authentic, inclusive, and committed approach to serving this community and our students will have a long-lasting impact on the learning community of the Rutland City Public Schools. Together, we can continue to make Rutland City Public Schools a first-rate learning environment for every child.

Christina Sweet

I was born and raised in Rutland City and went through the RCPS system, graduating from the current high school on Stratton Road. One of my favorite past occupations was working in the schools as a dental hygienist in the Tooth Tutor/802 Smiles Program and it gave me a whole new perspective. It also helped make me a better parent. RCPS holds a special place in my heart. My parents both graduated from RHS and my daughters will be students there soon. I have many former students still in the schools. Many of the staff members are close friends. I truly care about the people in my community and hope you will consider voting for me to help support our future generation.
